  1. Add details to files in the detail view

    Hello.

I have a folder, "Invoices," that has a few different file types in it. The files are invoices that I get from vendors, normally as email attachments.

I have over 100 vendors and I get the invoices as PDF's, Excel, or Word. I drag and drop the email attachment to the Invoices folder. Sometimes the email itself is the invoice, in which case I drag and drop the email itself into the invoice folder creating a .msg file. Occasionally I may have to scan or photo an invoice to add it to my Invoice folder.

Is there any way at all that I could possibly get a column in the details view, that I could alter the detail value for all file types? For instance there is a column that you can add in the File Explorer details view called "Company." I can alter the Company field and put information in it for some types of files, but not in all file types. Is there any way that I could have the ability to alter the Company column for all of the file types?

Or is there a column that is common to all files that I could alter, no matter what the file type? When I right click the column headers in the file view, and I click "More..." there appears to be well over 100 different columns that I can add to the header. But when you go to a particular file and go to it property-details, there is no way to alter the information in that column for that file.

    Thank you!!!

    :)
