    Access Denied when changing WaaSMedicSvc's startup to Automatic PLS HELP


    Hey guys

    I got the error code 0x80070424 when trying to update my Win10 so I googled the code and started trying out the methods used to solve it.
    I think I could solve it by enabling Windows Update Medic Service on the Services program, but when I try to change the startup type from Manual to Automatic it says Access denied.
    Of course I googled this, and found that I need to change the owner of the key in Regedit.
    So I did that, tried it both with User and Administrator, but it still won't let me change the startup...... I'm so frustrated with this I cant even tell you

    Can someone PLS help me? I'm desperate guys

    After following the steps suggested, I get the message "Access denied" in command prompt.

    Please advise how to allow permission.

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

    A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
