Windows 10: Windows 10 KB4577671 update issue

The download is completed with no issues, but everytime I try to install KB4577671 in windows version 1909, it immediately jumps to 20%, then 11% then 25%. It stays there for a while. After sometime it starts going up again, but at 100% it will fail with error code 0x80073701. I have tried the common DISM and sfc /scannow methods, resetting the SoftwareDistribution folder, downloading it manually from windows update catalog but nothing works...



What can I do?

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be happy to assist you today. I understand you have a problem with login screen constantly flickers after installing KB4577671.

It would be best to temporary pause updates until a fix is release about the issue. You can pause updates up to 35 days by clicking "Pause updates" multiple times

or to prevent the KB4577671 update from being reinstalled by Windows Update, use the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the update. Window Update won’t install hidden updates.

I would also recommend to send comments and suggestions about the issue through Feedback Hub App. Hopefully Microsoft will notice this and release a fix soon.

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

Keeps erroring on Installation - gets about 20% through and then errors with the above message.
