  1. Disabling screen time limits on an outlook account I no longer have access to

    Years if not a decade ago, I used a different outlook account to set up a desktop computer for my kids. I set up family screen time limits for both of my kids. The desktop is long gone and I no longer have access to that outlook account. I've tried recovering it but I keep getting the automated response that I did not provide enough info to recover the account. It's been so many years I simply can't remember what my passwords would have been or who I sent emails to maybe 10 years ago.

    In the meantime, my kids are now adults and have new laptops but they are still dealing with screen time limits that seem to be tied to their email accounts. I've tried to have them select "leave family" but I'm assuming that this would need to be acknowledged by me in the old outlook account that I can't access. I don't know how to fix this and I don't want them to have to create all new email accounts simply because we cannot get the locks removed from an obsolete outlook account.

    :)

    outlook account config

    SO today my friend asked me if i could post this question on the forum:

    He wants to configure a outlook account with 1 email, with that outlook account he wants to run the same account in 2 diferent computers he wants the both computer to be connected in network, for example:

    • he receives a email and that email is sent to each computer;
    • he deletes a email from one computer and it also deletes on the other;
    • he moves a email to a folder it also moves on the other computer;
    If you guys can help me would be nice!

    Windows 10 Screen Time Limits for Child Accounts

    OK. So, I've been using Screen Time schedules and hours for all of my children's accounts for over a year, and occasionally things get messed up, and these are my observations so far:

    • If the account gets locked because of Screen Time limitations, and the child (who is prompted and tempted to) presses Request More Time, then it DOES NOT matter what the parent does with the Screen Time parameters of the account (except removing them altogether
      - which works as long as you LEAVE them OFF,) changes made to Screen Time WILL NOT unlock the account. THIS IS A BUG.
    • In order to allow the child back on the computer after the child has requested more time, even the NEXT DAY, the parent must approve additional time from the request email, or (as long as the Child is NOT an administrator on the computer,) use the My Parent
      is Here override.

    Examples:

    • I had disabled 2 of my children's accounts, using Screen Time limits to BLOCK every day of the week. I enabled Child #1's account, one day, Thursday, June 11th, for 2 hours, and when he came back the next day, he pressed Request More Time. Now, no matter
      what I do, his account is locked everyday with the message that he will be allowed to log in again on June 18th - even though I have UPDATED his Screen Time Limits to 3hrs EVERY DAY. If I turn Screen Time Limits OFF, of course he's allowed to login, HOWEVER,
      as soon as I go into my Microsoft account, and turn Screen Time Limits ON, his account immediately locks, saying he will be allowed to log in on June 18th. He has to send me a Request for More Time EVERY DAY, and I need to respond to the email, in order to
      enable him to log into his account.
    • The other child, Child #2,, DID NOT ever Request More Time, and as soon as I updated his Screen Time Limits, BOOM! he was able to log into his account.

    • Today, my older son, that I have set to MAX SCHEDULED as far as duration, and I have his account disabled from 11:30PM to 5:00AM, was playing a game last night and his schedule with Screen Time expired. Yes, he presses Request More Time. Of course, I was
      in bed and never saw the e-mail. He also went to bed. Got up this morning played his game for 45 minutes, let his account stay logged in, and the computer went into screen lock, and at 3:17PM this afternoon, he tried to (login) unlock his screen and the message
      that came up said that he Ran Out of Screen Time. HOW?? He has MAX SCHEDULED? He IS an administrator on his laptop, and I had to have him Send me a Request for More Time, and I granted him 8 hours, and THAT unlocked his account. We'll have to SEE what happens
      tomorrow!

    Clearly, this Screen Time Limits for Windows 10 (most recent version) has issues and bugs. Please focus and fix them - this whole falderall with Microsoft Parental Controls is driving me NUTS!
