  1. Audio and Bluetooth problems

For the past week I have had both Bluetooth and Audio problems happen randomly and I have not been able to fix them.

My audio will not start, the troubleshooter says that I need to check the audio device, in the services tab, "Windows Audio" cannot be started due to this error,

"Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer.

Error 0x80070005: Access is denied. "

I tried to set it to a local account, tried to Uninstall the driver and restart the computer, and nothing works.

My Microsoft Arc Mouse also stopped working for no reason a few days ago, the device works on other devices perfectly. I tried the Bluetooth troubleshooter and no problems were found, I tried device management and it says that the device is working properly, now the mouse connects, it says paired and sometimes it says connected but no matter what there is no cursor and no response from the mouse. One thing that has changed from when it was working to now is that it no longer shows up as a mouse on the Bluetooth settings, it shows up as "other devices". Whenever I delete and re-conmect the mouse it shows up as a mouse for a second then goes to other devices. It is completely unresponsive on this device.

I tried a system restore to fix both of these problems, and on every restore point that I try the restore is unsuccessful and comes up with this message,

"System restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed.

    Details:

System restore failed to extract the file

    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Windows.Forms\v4.0_4.0-

    From the restore point.

An unspecified error occurred during system restore 0x80071160

Therefore, I have not been able to solve either of the problems with system restore, I did try the system restore in safe mode aswell and got the same pop-up.

I do have 2 pending Windows 10 updates that I cannot install because they are both stuck on "pending download", I have tried to switch it on the option to download updates over a metered connection and it has not worked, they stay on pending no matter what.

If someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

    windows 10 Bluetooth audio problems

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Do you get any error message?

I suggest to use a different Bluetooth speaker and check if the same issue persists. Also try using the current speaker with different computer running Windows 10 and check. As you are getting Crackles or warning sound it might be an issue with hardware.

Refer the link below and perform the troubleshooting steps suggested and check if that helps.

Fix connections to Bluetooth audio devices and wireless displays.

Hi there SimonWildZX, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

May I suggest to completely uninstall all Audio drivers listed in the Device manager including the headset. Please make sure to completely remove.

Here is how to do it.

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.

    Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound and Audio devices. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

    Step 5. Reboot the computer.

Repeat the steps in all the Audio devices listed.

Then reboot. then test the headset again.
