Windows 10: New PC- Setting up Windows 10- Error Code 0x80070057

Hi.

I'm building my first PC, and went with Windows 10 for my OS of choice. I am running a Ryzen MSI DDR4 motherboard, a WD 1TB hard drive. I keep running into the above error code (and a few others every time I try to troubleshoot it). I clear out the partitions on the drive and attempt to set up one for the OS, but I get the message that I cannot set up a partition, and I can't install the OS on the hard drive. Microsoft has been less than helpful, and they told me that the problem may be the USB stick or the Hard Drive.

The USB stick is fresh out of the box so I have no idea how it could be a problem. The Hard Drive has been sitting on my shelf in its bag for a couple days (building the PC got delayed because I needed to replace the Case) I don't know if the problem is in the software or the hardware, and I can't get answers anywhere. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I just want this process over with, I've already wasted two nights on Windows 10 alone.

Windows 10 Upgrade Error Code 0x80070057

- the first should have been resolved- and tutorials here help with that. Had there been a particular problem, MS's regional activation centres (phone call) could have helped.

How did you upgrade to Pro? Like this?
Upgrade Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro

And following that, was your Windows shown as having been activated, with your new license applied?
And were any updates then successfully applied?

What does Settings, About show?

Try a clean startup:

Launch System Configuratiion (msconfig)

on the Services tab:

Hide all Microsoft servicesPress the [Disable all] button

on the Startup tab: Press Open Task Manager
Disable all items listed
Close Task Manager
Press [Ok] on the System Configuration window

Restart your machine
Try a manual Windows Update from Settings -> Update and Recovery (not Control Panel)

The issue might be HW related.

A few other suggested fixes were to run wsreset

This might have more affect (works on Win10, not just Win8.x)
Store - Re-register in Windows 8 and 8.1

Try all three and test an update.
