  1. How can I see what Disk Cleanup & Storage Sense suggest deleting in my Downloads folder?

    OS is Windows 10 Enterprise 1809 64-bit build 17763.1554.

Disk Cleanup & Storage Sense both report that 1.09 MB of data can be deleted in my Downloads folder.

Neither of them allows me to browse or otherwise review what/which these files are.

However, my actual Downloads folder has 11.8 GB with 4,338 files and 290 folders in it, and most of those have been sitting there for ages.

Moreover, "%SystemRoot%\Downloaded Program Files" is empty.

I'd like to get rid of unneeded files, but I don't want to lose something I don't intend to.

So, how can I find out which are the files that the cleanup apps are suggesting that I delete?

    :)

    Disk Cleanup - downloads folder

Storage Sense is no better. It also has Downloads listed, same as Disk Cleanup.

  3. Disk Cleanup/Storage Sense problem

    Hello.

Recently, I had problems with Storage Sense/Disk Cleanup.

I tried to clean around 1.69GB of space by using Disk Cleanup. However, it didn't delete anything. It just skips all of them and didn't delete them.

Then I tried to use Storage Sense (i think both of them are the same) and got the same result.

You can see my situation in the GIF below (sorry the GIF is in Vietnamese):

    I tried sfc /scannow, DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and even /startcomponentcleanup and all of them didn't work.

Any help with this situation would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Files in disk cleanup

    Hi Lynne

Rest assured, it is totally safe to delete everything suggested by the Disk Cleanup Process, please tun the Disk Cleanup twice as explained below, please remember to untick your Downloads folder if you actually store files in that folder . . .

    Open File Explorer

    Click on your hard drive

On the Manage Tab, click Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

    Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

This time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete
