    USB causing microstutter with moving windows around


    Every time I plug a device into a USB port on my laptop, it causes windows to microstutter when moving windows around and various movements of things. I’m on a Predator Helios 300 laptop with the 10750h and 2060. I’m using a 144hz monitor as my main monitor connected through DP. I’ve tried various things like adjusting graphics settings and nothing other than unplugging the usb causes the problems to go away. I’ve individually plugged a keyboard and then a mouse into my two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports, with the problem not going away, so there is no issue with power allocation. I have no idea what to do.

    Installing windows off of a USB stick

    Step By Step from vista:
    From admin cmd prompt

    1. diskpart
    1a. list disk
    2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    3. clean
    4. create partition primary
    5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    6. active
    7. format fs=fat32
    8. assign
    9. exit

    Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

    xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

    And that's it, boot off your usb disk

    9.2 keeps giving me microstutter with my 4870x2 on Win XP x64 version. It crashed games in Vista. Does anyone know a fix to this? Thanks in advance.
