    coreinfo error / 64-bit install on Q6600

    Hello,

    I'd be grateful for any advice people might be able to offer on this;

I have an old PC with the following spec:
    CPU : Intel Q6600
    M/B : Asus P5K Deluxe
    RAM : 4GB PC2-6400
    HDD : Adaptec 1430SA RAID-10 500GB total

It's running Windows 10 32-bit ver. 1803 and I want to change that to 64-bit.

As preparation, I'm trying to run coreinfo to check that the CPU is compatible, but it quits on me with the error:

    Unsupported processor type: 0
Unable to extract x64 image. Run Coreinfo from a writeable directory.

The Q6600 is an x64 CPU, albeit a very old one - can anybody tell me:
    >Why won't coreinfo run?
    >Will Windows 10 64-bit install successfully?

From what I've read, I have to do a clean install to "upgrade" to 64-bit, so if the install fails, there's no way back...

Thanks for any help Unsupported processor type: 0 Unable to extract x64 image. Run Coreinfo from a writeable... :)

    Extracting Zip Files

Are the step-by-step processes identical? That is, the folder extracted from and the folder extracted to belong to the same hierarchical file system structure. If they are, that suggests mildly the Cumulative Update left an electron or two out of place.

adding xp image to x64 raid 0 setup

Hey all *Smile Unsupported processor type: 0 Unable to extract x64 image. Run Coreinfo from a writeable... :) I have 3 identical sata 2 7200 seagate barracudas. First drive is set up dual boot xp and x64 on separate partitions. 2 and 3 are now raid 0 with x64. Obviously, after seeing the performance gains I would like to move everything to the raid and keep 1 for backup.

Is it possible to create a partition on the raid and copy image of xp onto that for dual boot raided setup (issue installing raid drivers at OS install)?

Will it still be raid for xp partition? *Confused Unsupported processor type: 0 Unable to extract x64 image. Run Coreinfo from a writeable...

After reading another thread, I got the impression that raid drivers would be used from setup of x64 (f6 method). Is this true?

I have a lot of valuable data on that partition (Crysis ) and would be very unhappy to lose it.

I have looked and looked for an easy way to do this and have run into a wall. All suggestions greatly appreciated. *Respect :respect:
