  1. After entering pin to log into Windows 10 the desktop won't load.

    Hi,

Since yesterday, when restarting the computer after it froze, I get to the login-screen enter my pin but then nothing happens. The circle of dots just keep on circling forever and it never gets to the desktop.

After googling it was suggested that I needed to repair the windows-installation so I restarted the computer using SHIFT and then selecting restart. I got to the repair option and started the process. I was asked for my password instead of my pin. I had not used the password in ages so I did not remember it. However, I have another computer and from there I changed my windows-account password. I then went back to the problem-computer and entered the new password but it was not recognized.

I also tried to boot in safe mode, and was asked for the windows-password but it was not recognized there either.

What can I do to solve this?

    Best regards,

    Mikael Helmers

    :)

PIN log in without pressing enter

    Windows 10.

I have one PC that I enter my PIN and it logs in without my having to press the "enter" key.
I have another PC that I enter my PIN and then must press "enter" before it logs in.

What do I need to change to get the 2nd PC to log in like the 1st PC (not having to press enter)?

    Thanks

Log-in Pin is incorrect after Anniversary update

I had the same issue after my update on Windows 10. I knew that my pin hadn't changed but it was saying it was incorrect. So I said that I forgot my pin and it started going through the steps to reset the pin entered my regular password and when the window popped up to set a new pin I said cancel and then I chose the option to set my pin later. I exited the screen, logged off logged back in, and set up a new pin which happened to be the same pin I had before and it worked. If this still doesn't work I can show step by step screen shots if you need. I have a surface 3 with Windows 10 fully updated 10.0.14393.0
