Windows 10: PC not fully shutting down

When I shut down my computer, my monitor loses signal but my pc stays on and doesn't fully shut down. This forces me to shut it down using the power button on the case, which I don't like doing cause I've heard it can cause harm. I have tried updating my graphics card drivers, disabling the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under Intel Management Engine Interface, as well as disabling fast startup under my system settings. Is there any other solutions I can try? Any help would be appreciated.

PC not fully shutdown

I've PC of lenovo model m91p i5-2400 win-10-pro 64bit.

There is a very weird problem when I shut it down.

When I shut down via the regular way (start- shut-down) it shut down the PC but it leaves the power led on, and the only way I can shut it down completly is to press and hold for 7 sec.





But, in two cases, the PC is fully shut down (the power led turn off)-

1. I give a command of "shutdown -s" via the cmd.
   
2. When I shut down the windows have updates, so after the updates it fully shut down by itself.
   

This is a very weird problem and I realy have no idea what to do!

I'll be thankful for any kind of help...

By what Nammy states, its built into the PSU.

If you hit the power to shut down, wait a few seconds, does it fully shut down?

 

Windows 10 Pro (fully updated) will not shut down properly

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down to the issue.

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• How exactly are you shutting down the computer? Is it from Start menu?
• Did you try shutting down by pressing and holding the power button?
• Did you make any recent changes to the computer settings?
• Did you plug any external device to the computer?

I would like to inform you that it is bit difficult to pin point on the exact reason behind the issue unless we get the answers for the questions asked above.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to press and hold the power button and check if the computer able to shut down completely.

If the issue persist try unplug plug the charger\power cord from the power source and check if the issue persists, this may also arise due to any fault in the power source.

If the above steps doesn’t work, I suggest you to check if the fast startup option is enabled.

• Access control panel by right clicking on the Start menu.
• Choose Power options.
• Select Choose what the power buttons do and check if it is enabled.(Disable it if enabled)
