How do I instal; Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget on Windows 10? I need it for my RG350?

I cannot see it in drivers.

Windows 10 vs Remote NDIS - Ethernet USB/Gadget not recognized

I'm using a similar "Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget" device. On Windows 7/8/10, it is detected and windows installs an Acer RNDIS driver, which does not work and causes the Network and Sharing center to lock up.

In Windows 7/8, I was able to select the "Microsoft Corporation" "Remote NDIS Compatible Device" driver (via Device Manager, right-click and select "Update Driver...") and get it working. Presumably, this is the same driver as the C:\Windows\INF\rndiscmp.inf
mentioned above. However, this is not listed even when you uncheck "Show Compatible Drivers" in Windows 10. I wonder if maybe there is another way to install drivers, e.g. via PowerShell?

Hi,

I used to connect my ODROID U3 with Ubuntu via USB to Windows 7 and Windows 8 via remote ndis, which shows up in the device manager as "Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget" and results in a new LAN connection.

Although c:/Windows/inf/rndiscmp.inf is there, plugging the USB cable does give the according windows sound and makes the device manager blink, but nothing else happens, no network adapter shows up nor an "Other device" (as in Windows 7).

Worked like a charm in Windows 7 and Windows 8 but not in Windows 10.

Any ideas?

update: Microsoft must have fixed this, suddenly it works out of the box, havent installed anything. Like in Window 7/8,when plugging in the ODROID, the RNDIS device comes up again .

 

Netchip RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget not detected on Windows10, while vmware running on windoes detect it.

Hi experts,

I'm now trying to connect my RNDIS Ethernet Gadget to Window PC.

Symptom is as followings.

1. Windows10 does not detect my RNDIS Ethernet Gadget at all.

When checking "device manager window", I can not see any such device on USB or Network tree.

I can not see such a device on "network connection window"





2. However, Linux machine running on vmware on that machine can detect the RNDIS Ethernet

gadget device, and works as expected if I connect the device to the virtual machine.

But, Windows10 can not detect it when connect it to the host (disconnect the device from the virtual machine )





So, Hardware itself can detect the device, however window10 does not detect it.

How can I solve this problem ? Please help !!
