allocated space for system restore suddenly set to 0% zero after KB4579311, KB4578968 update

Today I received an error on my laptop that a volume shadow copy had failed.

"The shadow copies of volume C: were aborted because the shadow copy storage could not grow due to a user imposed limit"

I then checked the disk space usage for system protection and found that system protection was still turned on but "Max Usage" was set to 0%.

I checked the system log which dates back until Sep. 1st for other Volsnap errors and did not find any.

The latest Windows Update Logs date from Oct. 17 showing KB4579311, KB4578968 and Adobe Flash Player.

I had noticed that the updates like others before did reset the height of my locked taskbar from 2 to 1 which was quite a nuisance.

Changing the system protection settings is a much more critical issue though.

Is it a known issue with the mentioned updates or are there other reasons which may have caused the storage allocation change?

    :)

5 BSOD when trying to update KB4579311 and KB4578968 (Windows)

    Hello

    • 2004 - 19041.572
    • Windows 10 Pro
    • 64 bit
    • KB4579311 and KB4578968
    • BSOD: Data Structure Corruption Memory, Memory Management, Irql not less or equal

I've come to realise tonight that there was Windows update so i decided to them (update when shutting off). My pc suddenly had a blue screen which was Data Structure Corruption Memory while updating. Into another 3 BSOD which is Memory management into Irql
    not less equal.

Everytime i logged in my pc had memory management BSOD. So i decided to shut the pc and sleep.

This morning started up the pc, no BSOD. I saw that KB4579311 update was installed but KB4578968 was not installed. KB4578968 Is related to memory security update, what should i do right now? So i think it's normal to have memory management BSOD since the
update is related to it. Probably something went wrong when trying to update it..

Should i dig to search for the problem or just leave it as it is? The reason i'm telling to leave it as it is, is that the problem might be resolved on it's own.

    Cheers

    Windows update issues (kB4579311)(KB4578968)

I have to reinstall windows multiple times until I was able to narrow it down to one of these windows updates (kB4579311) (KB4578968). Once I installed these updates my mouse will no longer highlight words or able to click on drop down menus. Sometimes
it will not let me click on anything. Is there a solution for this?
