    This is Aradhay Singh from India,

    And i am having a problem that after downloading and installing "2020-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 2004

    for x64 based systems" we have to restart it too for proper installation... right?

    but when i do my laptop restarts normally and updates are never installed.

    I am not even able to shut down my laptop properly becuz of this update stuck in my laptop's **** i always have to forcely power off.

    you all are not even trying to help and have the audacity to roll these kind of **** updates troubling many win 10 users i cant seem to have any help from your side. And one more thing.

    this message that says some settings are managed by your organizations always forcing to update even if we dont want to the ****.

    Is this some kind of a game to you or what .. i want these problem to be fixed right away.. Icant deal with this **** anymore. i cant

    Windows updates won't install!

    I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

    You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    I would suggest you to try the below methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

    I suggest you to run the Windows Update troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    1. Click on search bar next to Start Menu.

    2. Type “Troubleshooting” without the quotes and click on
    Troubleshooting.

    3. Click on View All on the left panel of the screen.

    4. Click on Windows Update

    5. Click on Next and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter. Restart the PC and check.

    If the above steps doesn't work, try the below automatic Windows troubleshooter
    and check if it helps.

    If the above steps doesn't work try the below.

    Method 2:

    I would suggest you to manually reset the Windows update components and check if it helps.

    Reset Windows update components.

    Resetting Windows Update Components will fix corrupt Windows Update Components and help you to install the Windows Updates. Please follow the below steps to reset the Windows Updates Components manually:

    • Press Windows Key + X on the keyboard and then select “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the menu.
    • Stop the BITS, Cryptographic,
      MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
      • net stop wuauserv
      • net stop cryptSvc
      • net stop bits
      • net stop msiserver
    • Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and
      Catroot2
      folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
      • ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
      • ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
    • Now, let’s restart the BITS, Cryptographic,
      MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. Type the following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the
      ENTER key after you type each command.
      • net start wuauserv
      • net start cryptSvc
      • net start bits
      • net start msiserver
    5. Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it.

    Now you may try running the Windows Updates and check if the above steps resolve the issue.
