Windows 10: Documents Missing After Windows Update

Recently completed multiple Windows 10 updates and discovered that My Documents have vanished. They cannot be found while accessing C:Users/... . When using the File Explorer to search for the file name on my computer, I am only able to locate file shortcuts that do not access the files when selected. I checked the recycling bin, checked the Windows.old folder, attempted a System Restore, and even downloaded third party file recovery software Recuva in an attempt to locate my missing files. All were unsuccessful. I am afraid that my files are lost forever with absolutely no explanation or possible resolution. This is extremely frustrating and discouraging as the issue appears to be a direct cause of Microsoft - a company which I have been loyal to and carry multiple yearly paid subscriptions with.


Is there anything else I can try to restore my files?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
