    Driver Power State Failure With Certain Games?


    Hello all. So this has been going on for a little while now I'm not sure exactly how long, and I've finally decided to see if there's any obvious fixes for it.


    When I play certain games, I get a driver power state failure BSOD. Although I don't play enough games to be certain, it seems like only full-screen ones do it, and also not all of them do. Maybe only the "heavy duty" ones? For the ones that do it, they tend to freeze before the BSOD. Alt-tabbing in those ones is a sin certain to rain blue screen hell upon me.


    I have an Acer Nitro AN515-53 64-bit laptop with 8 GB RAM, running Win10 Build 19041. I've heard this particular BSOD is sometimes caused by the graphics drivers, so I have Intel 630 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050. As far as I know, everything is as up to date as it can be. I do not have power saver on.     It is possible that the error Driver Power State Failure you received is can be caused by
    the driver itself or power settings.
    To address your issue, we suggest that you follow the steps shared by S M Mahmudul Hasan
    on this thread on how to troubleshoot Driver Power State
    Failure.

    Driver power state failure

    I have an ASUS ROG GL553VD on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

    Whenever I try playing certain games like Counter Strike: Global Offensive or Battlefield 4 and I suddenly get a message saying: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart, Driver power state failure."

    Anyone know how to fix this?
