    Hi, my PC started lagging pretty hard when I wasn't even using it for gaming recently (though it is pretty high spec so shouldn't anyway), so I checked my task manager and my RAM usage appears to constantly be above 14 gb no matter what I close, and the processes RAM usage barely go over 1.5gb. I have only 16gb of RAM so I think this is a big issue. I heard RamMap would help so I've run it and attached a screenshot below. Anyone know how to fix this? Restarting the PC doesn't help.

    Unknown Constant RAM Usage

    Hi,

    To explore more on RAM usage by processes and see in-depth I advise you to open the Resource monitor, please follow the below steps.

    Step 1 :

    Open Task Manager

    Step 2:

    Click on Performance

    Step 3:

    At the bottom click on Open Resource Monitor

    Step 4:

    Under Resource Monitor windows click on Memory

    Step 5:

    Click on Working Set to list the top process utilizing the more RAM and then evaluate RAM usage.

    Mine are turned off and were turned off when the Phantom Usage occurred.

    I still have phantom data issues.... I have a gmail account, not a yahoo account, so I don't think the usage is coming from there.

    I have everything turned off that could possibly be turned off and I still get usage problems. I was trying to look at my ATT statement online, but it's being processed right now so I can't post the Phantom numbers.



    I really don't think this issue has been resolved... I think Microsoft needs to add some sort of switch to "ONLY" send messages when connected to "WiFi", or some sort of messaging system that lets the consumer know what is causing the Phantom usage.
