Windows 10: Yahoo email server error on one acct but not other w/ same settings

I use Win 10 Pro on my desktop but I imagine this is not an MS problem. It's just that I would prefer not to pay Yahoo $5 for help and don't know where else to post this. I have two Yahoo accounts. Today one of them, the main one I use, is returning a server error in MailWasher Pro and timing out in my email program (Sylpheed), while the other account, with the same exact settings, is accessing their server just fine. On my iPad, both accounts work fine and the email is there via Yahoo's website. Prior to this, I haven't touched the settings for MWP or email program in weeks -- and yes, MWP has not had problem accessing the Yahoo server as of yesterday. No notices of frozen account or reason for it, or anything. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Thanks,

Yahoo Email Acct

How do I merge an often used yahoo account with another yahoo account that is on my PC/Windows 10?

I actually don't know how acct #2 was created, except that I emailed .gov or .org web addresses though it. (school districts, and etc).

Last item is May 19th.

I'm getting a "yahoo acct settings are out of date" notification on PC and think everything is up to date. I'm being

told that I've received emails that aren't in either acct, also emails I've sent aren't in either outbox. Super important ones!!

Yahoo! Mail error - Error Cod: 8000FFFF

Here is a solution if your problem is similar.

I work for att and I worked on this particular issue for several hours with a customer. In the end, I tried a lot of different trial and error ideas. In the end, I discovered the windows phone auto set up seems to clash with Yahoo mail. My particular customer
has the yahoo plus, so that was not the solution to this error.

Yahoo has their email server set up as a pop, but it defaults in the phone as an imap, which is wrong.

Here is the Yahoo mail settings. As you can see there is a difference between regular and premium yahoo mail.



Yahoo! Mail Settings

• 
  Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465)

• 
  Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)

POP Yahoo! Mail Plus email server settings

• 
  Yahoo Plus Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)

• 
  Yahoo Plus Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication)

Something to note, if you use the default wizard set up for yahoo and you have a premium account it will not work. The phone cannot detect that you have premium service with yahoo, so you need to set up the yahoo account manually. Which means you need to go
to the advanced set up and type in the email server information yourself. Exactly how yahoo has it listed here. After I did that, the 8000FFFF error disappeared as well as every other error I'd receive. One more thing, notice the plus in front of the email
server for the plus account. Make sure that is there or it will not work.

The settings do not fix the issue. What has MS done to create this error and why would the default settings in the setup no longer work properly. That is why they created the default in the first place.
