Windows 10: Why doesn't network discovery work after installing the latest updates to windows 10

I have just installed the latest updates to Windows 10 Pro and network discovery no longer works. I can categorically state that the failure of network discovery in Windows 10 can be attributed to the latest updates. We are forced to install new updates which has some benefits but why do Microsoft keep updating our workstations with bad code? The problem appeared on two of my workstations after the last updates and it does not appear to be fixable. On both workstations I have Windows 10 Pro, Version 2004, Latest install 26/10/2020, OS build 19041.572, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2213.310. My question is when are they going to fix the problem? I have tried about 30 "remedies/fixes" I found on the forums and none of them worked. I have been developing software on Windows systems since the 80s and I am thoroughly feed up with working my way around Microsoft problem. I wish I had stayed with Unix.

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

 

Cannot keep Network Discovery Enabled.

Thank you for the response.

I would suggest that you change the settings in the Firewall to allow Network discovery so that the Firewall stays On while allowing the Network discovery to be enabled.

Follow the steps.

a . Open Control panel.

b. Small icons from the drop down.

c. Click on Windows Firewall.

d. Click on Allow programs or feature through Firewall.

e. Scroll the list and check Network Discovery.
