I set system sounds to "No Sounds" on Control panel/change system sound, but settings keep reverting back to "Windows Default". How do I keep settings on "No Sounds"?

    :)

Yeah unfortunately ASUS and Realtek are not stepping up and fixing this it seems. Wherever I see such problems mentioned on forums some users are suggesting just uninstalling the Realtek driver and using the Windows audio driver.

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue System sound settings will not stay as I set them. :p

    Sound Settings Moved ?

Hi, are you referring perhaps to the change in options available from the volume icon in 1903? (Sounds missing from context menu)

This was raised in a thread a little while back, but I can't find it right now.

Finding the Sound control from Settings
is relevant and may suggest a way forward- e.g. a shortcut.

I use a useful freeware program called Volume2- right click its tray icon, clicking Playback shows that CP dialogue.
Volume2 also provides scroll control and middle click mute of volume when hovering over the taskbar, amongst other things.
