Windows 10: Server 2016/ Windows 10 network drive issue

need some help. we are running home directories off of a windows 2016 server and using windows 10 laptops.they are toshiba ultrabooks but not sure the model off hand. we discovered that the user group 'everyone' was allowed on the root of the drive where the shares are located and people could access each others home directories. i stripped the permissions off of the drive but now lots of users are noticing when their computers go to sleep and wake up they dont have access to some of the folders in their home directory. they can access all folders that are available offline, but any custom folders they set up in their h drives have grey X's over them and they have to gpupdate>restart to get access again. this all happened after stripping the group 'everyone' from the root of the drive. any help or idea would be much appreciated.

• Do let us know if your device is connected to a Windows Server?
• Have you tried the troubleshooting steps suggested in the Microsoft help article in my previous post and check if it helps?

Step like: Run the Network troubleshooter, Update the rivers, Rollback the drivers, turn off firewalls etc..

Try the above troubleshooting steps update us the status for further assistance.

Hard drive/ OS issue

Windows 10 v1909 does not search a network drive mapped to Windows Server 2016 UNC path

• All Windows 10 computers on this network can index local files. They have the most recent 1909 build.
• Only local disks and libraries appear in the 'selected locations' list and there's no option in Indexing Options to add a new target to the list.
• The Windows 2016 file server hosting the share has the Windows Search service installed. Indexing is complete with more than 658,000 items including the target share the end user wants to search.
• A search for a string in the pdf file on the server yields the desired results
• A search for a string in the pdf file name on the Win 10 v1909 workstation yields no results

How are people searching shared drives in business environments since the changes from earlier versions of Windows? How can I give my end-users complete search functionality?
