Windows 10: Side By Side Error when trying to launch a game

I've recently ran into a problem after getting the most recent update, when trying to open a game I have on my computer. When I try to launch League of Legends I get the error message "The application has failed to start because its Side By Side configuration is incorrect". There is a file path in the message as well, the path is" C:\users\myname\AppData\Roaming\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\League of Legends.lnk". I have looked into some possible fixes and through searching, I have re-downloaded the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable package which didn't work. Has anyone found any alternate fixes for this. In addition, I obviously tried to uninstall and reinstall League of Legends first but when I do that it seems to be stuck and will not start the uninstall wizard for League. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Games won't launch and run in background.

I would like to inform that the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x86,
usually occupy 1 GB of the storage space.

I suggest you to run disk cleanup to free the memory: Free up drive space in Windows 10
and check.
