  1. IRQL error

I recently reinstalled and updated Windows 10 on my new computer. Over the last few days I have received stop errors three different times with the code "driver irql_less_or_not_equal". I have gone through troubleshooting steps to determine the issue which included running a sfc scan.

The scan came back with the following message:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline

repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

After this, I ran the command "dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" and it came back with an Error 0x800f081f and the message:

The source files could not be found.

Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Since the source file could not be found, I created another ISO image, mounted it, and specified the source per the answer in this forum.

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/4bd0ea63-12bb-4ffe-870c-ccb2e66fe4fa/dism-error-0x800f081f-the-source-files-could-not-be-found?forum=win10itprogeneral

After restarting, running another sfc scan and also running a memory diagnostic I still haven't determined the issue. I checked the sfcdetails text file and found the error below.

2020-10-28 19:32:24, Info CSI 00000168 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:23]'System.ServiceModel.dll' of System.ServiceModel, version 4.0.15805.210, arch amd64, versionScope neutral, pkt {l:8 b:b77a5c561934e089} in the store, hash mismatch

I attempted to find and take ownership of that file per another forum article but the command is coming back with an error stating that the system cannot find the file specified.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system#cbs%20log

At this point I am at a loss for what to do. I am still receiving the 'blue screen of death' when running any intensive tasks and the scan is still coming back with a corrupted file error. I would really like some insight on next steps.

    :)

BSOD irql not less or equal error

I've had a look at your two memory dumps. The first was caused by a System service exception and suggests memory corruption, the second was a IRQL error.

    Code:
    Code:
BugCheck 3B, {c0000005, fffff8040f8bb5f7, ffffab81b224ecf0, 0} Probably caused by : memory_corruption SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b) An exception happened while executing a system service routine. BugCheck D1, {0, d, 8, 0} Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!KiPageFault+247 ) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1) An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually caused by drivers using improper addresses.
I would suggest you run a test of your memory. Memtest86+ is recommended and needs to run for 8 passes which could take 10 hours or more for the 8GB of memory you have.

Let us know what the results are and then, if necessary, we can look further into possible driver problems.

    IRQL GT AT SYSTEM SERVICE

    Hi Philippe,

Thank you for bringing up your query on Microsoft Community.

We regret the inconvenience caused to you.

    • When exactly do you get this message?

    • What is the complete error message you get?

    • Are you able to boot to the desktop?

    • Have you made any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
A blue screen error (also called a stop error) can occur if a problem causes your PC to shut down or restart unexpectedly.

The IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE bug check has a value of 0x0000004A. This indicates that a thread is returning to user mode from a system call when its IRQL is still above PASSIVE_LEVEL.

Let us try the following steps check if it helps.

Step 1: Initially, I suggest you to start your computer in safe mode with Networking and check if the issue appears there as well. If it does not appear in safe mode with Networking place the computer in clean boot state
to identify the culprit program running in the background creating this error.

Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started.

Refer: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10

Step 2: Let us follow the steps suggested in the following article and check if ti helps in resolving the issue.

    Troubleshoot blue screen errors

    Hope it helps.

Let us know the status, we are glad to assist you further.
