My original Microsoft account seems to be taken over by a Chinese hacker

As the title says, my account has been taken over by someone else with a recovery email @tom.com, a Chinese site, so I assume it is a Chinese hacker. The account has the username of a Gmail address I still have control over, but when I try to do the recovery verification form, it keeps being instantly rejected. I always used this account from the US and Germany, and have never been to China in my life. If a human would actual look, I could send you a picture of my driver's license and you could obviously see it's my account, not some random person in China that you gave it to.

    :)

  2. "Chinese Characters" program delaying shutdown - a different approach.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your response.

    • As you have mentioned this happens only in the Admin account, is it local account set as admin account or the Microsoft account?
I would suggest you to check the all apps list and check if that Chinese character app is present.

After you try the above steps and share us the results what happens we can proceed with the further suggestions.

Please post us back with the results after troubleshooting the above steps and check.

Keep us posted to help you better.

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account

Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

    Tutorials:
Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address. Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:
