A while ago I purchased a Lenovo laptop with a warranty at a physical Microsoft store. The issue with my laptop is that the top of my screen is also being shown at the bottom of my screen. It used to flicker there but now it's just constant and translucent, taking up 1/3 of my screen.

I'm not sure how to really describe it but it's as if someone were to copy an image of the screen, turn the opacity down to ~40%, paste it on top of the screen, and move it down.

I've already tried changing refresh rates, switching between intel and nvidia graphics, updating/reinstalling drivers, uninstalling and restarting in safe mode, and starting with a fresh install of windows 10. I'm almost 100% sure it's a hardware issue because when I boot the laptop up, there's a line of white pixels going horizontally across the screen and the screen problem happens during the startup and in safe mode as well.

Since stores are closed, where do I go to claim the warranty?

The Store Closures FAQ tells me to go to the PerformanceGuard Hub to get support. Logging in didn't work and there was no sign-up button until I just went to their base website nothing after .com/. When I created an account and tried to search for my warranty with my name, address, and phone number, it said that there aren't any protection plans that match.

    :)

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

Issues with the On screen keyboard and mouse pointer.

    Hi Robert,

The issues with the mouse may arise due to driver conflicts and the issue related to the On Screen keyboard may be when the settings for the OSK are turned on.

For the On screen keyboard issue, I suggest you to follow the below steps.

    • Type Ease of Access on the search bar.

    • Choose Ease of Access and click on
Use the Computer without a mouse or keyboard option.

    • Check if the Type using a pointing device is turned on.

    • You may uncheck that option if it is turned on.
    Also try the below steps:

    • Press Windows key + R and type
      Services.msc
      .

    • Scroll down to find the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service".

    • Disable the option by right clicking on it.
    For the Mouse issue:

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

    1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

    2. Select Troubleshooting.

    3. Select View all on the top left corner.

    4. Click on Hardware
    and
    Devices.

    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

    6. Check if issue persists.

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.
