Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart

    Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041

I know there are plenty of threads on this. I just bought a new PC Specialist Tornado R5 Gaming PC and it's BSOD'd me twice already! And both times I wasn't pushing the graphics card to the limit.

    AMD Ryzen 5
    NVidia GTX 1660

Is there something I need to do such as:

    1. It's probably something simple like I need an update, or
    2. Send that thing straight back and get a refund!

    Help.

The thing restarted yesterday for no reason and it was an update for Microsoft Edge. I turned that off for 18 hours a day though in the setting for active hours.

I also bought a cheap bootleg DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor so I could connect it to my TV as well, and this was working great for a while until it didn't and I'm worried I might have fried the DisplayPorts on my Graphics Card now. (something to do with with Pin20 or something). Tried lots of things last night to see if I could isolate the problem and I think it's either a faulty adaptor or the adaptor broke the graphics card. Hopefully the chances of that happening are slim; I manged to get some video out of one of the DPs using it to my monitor after that while it was booting, but then it disappears which suggest to me the port is still working. Sorry I know this is another issue.

    :)

  3. This PC ran into a problem and needs to restart.

I ran into this problem, This PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. I talked to a Answer Desk tech guy and he gave me steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Fix blue screen error by updating the display adapter:

    1. Right click on start menu and click on device manager.

    2. On the list of devices menu, please choose display adapter.

    3. Please do click on display adapter then see what are the display devices on the list. (For me, it is: Intel HD Graphics & Microsoft Basic Display Adapter)

    4. Please choose Intel HD Graphics then click on next to install it.

    5. It should say installing a success.

    6. Restart your device for the change to take into affect.

At least Intel HD Graphics is for my device.

p.s. The blue screen error has something to do with display adapter? Intel graphics driver is the device to make the viewing display work properly. Also, the updates should be able to detect updates, but in many cases, it will not, since the latest driver
is updated. That is when manually update driver is needed. He told me that he helped people with this type of issue many of times. That should work for others who have the same issues as me. Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart :) Good luck!
