    Macrium PE Problem

I have Macrium Recovery on a USB drive which I've used successfully for years restoring images of Win7 and Win10. The drive itself has 2 partitions, the first one formatted as FAT32, containing the bootable Macrium PE system itself. The 2nd partition is formatted to NTFS, and it's where I store the images. This has not caused any issue until recently, when I found that the system no longer can read the NTFS drive. If I run diskpart and lis vol, all internal/external volumes are shown, but not the NTFS one on my USB drive.

When fully booted in Win 10, it sees the NTFS partition and I can read/write to it without an issue. Also if I run Macrium from Win 10 it can read the NTFS drive, but I can't restore an image from within Win 10, although from there I can make one and write it to this drive. I added a 3rd FAT32 partition to the USB drive, which is for Win PE and that boots fine. But if I run diskpart from there it reads the NTFS partition, but unfortunately it can't restore Macrium images. So the problem appears to lie with the Macrium PE system files. I've tried removing and recreating the NTFS partition on the USB drive, but the problem remains.

Any ideas why this NTFS on the USB drive is no longer readable from Macrium PE?

    :)

Problem creating a Macrium Reflect Windows PE rescue USB

To clarify, you have a paid version?

Anyway, I know little of Macrium since I don't use it, but I see you mention Rufus and wonder if you're following Macruim's stated procedures, and not introducing a step not intended for creating the USB media? Perhaps follow the stated procedures and go from there.

    Apologies if I've misunderstood *Smile

    Macrium PE Problem

Macrium Reflect 7.1.3317 - PE 10 Rescue Media build isssue.

    It's solved.

Macrium Reflect 7.2 solved my issue. They re-engineered the entire PE environment.
I suggest upgrading to 7.2 and creating new rescue media.
