Windows 10: Noisy Continual operating hard drive windows 10

Hello Community: My Windows 10 Hard drive 1 yr old is working hard and is noisy. Hoping for some advice. Thanks in advance.

Noisy hard drives

Hello I have 2 hard drives. One of them is very noisy when powered on. I can feel my desk vibrating when its reading. (I think its dying) Its around 6 years old, so Im expecting it to stop working soon. My other drive is also abit noisy but not as bad as the first one. (The other drive is 3 years old) But anyway, is it any way to manually turn off hard drives without unplugging them? Power saving helps, but they always seem to turn on again after a while. It it any software on the internet that can put hard drives into a power saving mode that it cant wake up from unless I want it to?

• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
