Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Lost all existing files after update over this past weekend. This is a complete disaster.... :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

  3. Second screen "lost" with past two updates

    Hello Sassy,

The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the second display on your
Windows 10 computer may be caused by some configuration or file mismatched. To sort out your concern, we suggest that you run the
System File Checker (SFC) tool. This process will automatically scan and correct if there’s a possible integrity violation on the system. To do this, you may follow the steps provided on this
link. Once you’re on the page, you
may expand and proceed with the steps from the Windows 10, Windows 7, or Windows Vista
option under the Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)
section, and then complete the process. After completing the steps, you may check if you’re able to use the second display on your PC.

If the issue continues even after updating the display driver, we suggest that you
uninstall and reinstall the device driver on your PC. This process will re-establish the good working status of the device. To do this, you may follow the steps below:

    • Click Start, type Device Manager, and then select it from the search results.
    • Expand the Display adapters, double-click on the device driver.
    • Click the Driver tab > Uninstall, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
    • Once you’re done, restart your device. It will automatically scan for the missing driver and install it.
    • After completing the steps, you may check if the issue persists.

Keep us updated about your concern, for additional assistance.
