Windows 10: How to Fix Mouse Settings selecting while hovering hp Laptop for Windows 10

Windows 10 new Update: 4 simple step that will help you solve the mouse selecting issue


If you're having issues with your mouse and every where your cursor hovers it constantly selects and brings that window in front of a project or a folder your currently working on and If you were like me and are still having trouble finding a fix, I may have a solution for you.


follow these simple steps

1 Open your Control Panel

2 Open Ease Of Access Center and Click on the text Change how your mouse works

3 Look for the text Make it easier to manage windows and Uncheck the option Activate windows by hovering over it with the mouse

4 After you have unchecked the box. Simply click Apply and OK and your all set :





I'm legit worried, I don't want to come off as a "know it all". I've struggled with this problem for sometime now. The problem "was", there are multiple mouse settings on my hp laptop and there's even more settings that comes with windows 10. These setting obviously where in Control Panel, but there are other settings that require you to go in, well... Your Settings, which is where I've been to try and fix this issue.

Laptop mouse hover

Did you restart your computer?

Press Windows key + R

Type: control

Hit Enter

Select or click Ease of Access.

Click or tap on Ease of Access Centre.

Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.

Check if issue is resolved.

Method 2:

I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.

In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.

Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".

In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.

In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

 

Windows 10 Pointer Hovering

Thanks for the feedback, Mike. To turn off the pointer or mouse hovering on your laptop, follow these steps:

• In Cortana search, type in Mouse.
• Click Mouse and Touchpad settings in the search result.
• Turn off the Mouse Hover Switch.

You may also look for Tap to Click and have it turned off. Here's how:

• In Cortana search, type in Mouse.
• Click Mouse and Touchpad settings in the search result.
• Click Additional Mouse Options and select the Thinkpad tab.
• Click Settings.
• Under the General tab, uncheck Tap to Click option.

Did you recently notice any changes on your computer?



I suggest to try with the steps as given below

1. Click on Start menu (Windows logo) and type
   Control Panel.
   
2. Select Control Panel Desktop app from the suggestions.
   
3. Click on View by and choose
   Large icons.
   
4. Click on Ease of access center.
   
5. Click on Make the mouse easier to use.
   
6. Uncheck the checkbox for Activate a Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
   
7. Click Apply and Ok.
   
8. Close Ease of Access center and see if the issue is fixed.
