There should be qualcomm something about wifi network adapter that should be updated in order to detect wilreless connection, but in Device Manager, there is no choice for wireless adapter drive.

  2. wifi driver vanished

    Hi harishsk3033,

It appears that the wireless adapter/card on your laptop gone missing. Have you made any changes or installed any updates on your laptop prior to the issue? If yes, what were those changes or updates?

Basically, since the wireless adapter/card no longer appears in Device Manager, then it implies that the device is no longer detected. Downloading its drivers will not do any help. The wireless adapter/card has to be detected first before you can install
    its driver.

As a workaround, I suggest performing the following steps to try to re-detect the wireless adapter/card:

    • Reboot the laptop
      • To insure that the laptop is properly rebooted, I recommend to shut it down first, before starting it up again.
    • Scan for hardware changes
      1. Open Device Manager.
      2. Right-click the Network adapters category, and click
        Scan for hardware changes
        .
      3. Check if the wireless card appears. If yes, then right-click it, and click
        Update driver software
        .
      4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    • Check for Other devices in Device Manager.
      1. Go back to Device Manager and look for Other devices.
      2. If it's there, then expand it.
      3. If the wireless adapter/card is on the list, then right-click it and click
        Update Driver Software
        .
      4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If the above steps won't help, then there's a need to unplug and replug the wireless adapter/card on your laptop to have it detected. Please contact your computer manufacturer for proper assistance.

Kindly update this thread with the result so I'll be able to assist you further if needed.

    Regards.

  3. Everything detects+connects to everything including Home Laptop and Home WIFI except Home Laptop to Home WIFI

    SOLVED:

    • Home WIFI is set to Channel 4 and has over 90% signal.
    • Neighbour WIFI is set to Channel 4 and has over 90% signal.
    • I set Home WIFI to Channel 1 - it was set to Auto
    • Home Laptop detects Home WIFI 5 times after I switch Router off and on - it used to not detect after 1-2 switches.
    • Home Laptop connects to Home WIFI in less than 2 seconds - it used to take more than 10 seconds.

    Problem:

    • Home Laptop doesn't detect Home WIFI except sometimes

    Exception:

    • Sometimes Home Laptop detects and connects to Home WIFI
successfully + internet works great like when I posted this question. Generally it happens after
turning Home Router off and on.

    Mission:

    • To make Home Laptop detect Home WIFI

    WIFI detection:

    • Everything detects Home WIFI except Home Laptop
    • Home Laptop detects Every WIFI except Home WIFI
    • Home Laptop detects Home WIFI on Neighbour Cable Line
    • Home Laptop doesn't detect Neighbour WIFI on Home Cable Line

    Info:

    • OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit
    • Router: Nokia G-140w-G
    • WIFI Adapter: Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter

    Tried:

    • Windows Update - up to date: 24.11.2019
    • Windows Reset including deleting files
    • Network Reset + Windows Restart
    • Router Reset
    • Router Unplug everything for more than a minute
    • WIFI Adapter Driver Update - "Windows has determined that the best
driver for this device is already installed"
    • WIFI Adapter Drivers Replacement - 3 replaced
    • WIFI Adapter enable/disable
    • Mobile Hot Spot - doesn't detect

  4. Laptop cannot detect wifi connection, driver cannot be updated because there is no wireless...

laptop can't find wifi but connects with ethernet cable

Please try these troubleshooting steps that may help.

    1. Make sure the router SSID broadcast is on.
    2. Change the wifi channel to see if it resolves the problem.
    3. Enter the SSID and WPA2 password manually and see if the laptop connects.
    4. Temporarily turn off the encryption.
    5. We go into device manager & check updates for wifi drivers, we may need to simply update the driver.
    6. We go to Settings - Network & Internet - Status - Change Adapter Options, then right-clicked 'Ethernet' and disabled it. We do the same with wifi. Then we (with Ethernet still disabled) enabled wifi. It should re-connect to your wifi after a while.
    7. We have to disconnect our Ethernet cable from our laptop and follow the steps:
Start>Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Manage Wireless Networks and remove all wireless connections by right click on it and select Remove network from the drop down menu. After doing this, close the windows and scan for the wifi networks.
Click on the available network and select connect. After a while, we will be asked to give a password for our wifi connection. Type the password and click on connect button. And now will be connected to our wifi network via wireless.
    8. First is to disconnect the internet cable from the laptop then uninstall/reinstall the wifi adapter.
Go to Device Manager and uninstall the wifi adapter.
Once uninstalled, reboot the laptop and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
After the reboot do try connecting to your wireless network again.
If all these will not work, do also make sure that the wireless adapter is enabled. Depending the model of your laptop there should be key combinations on how to enable/disable it.
