A few months ago, my computer started deadlocking right after being left idle. At first I thought it was a chrome issue, but then I noticed it does it when left idle for a short time even with any browser open. I went through the phone troubleshooting with microsoft customer service who had me do a system restore, which did even more damage. I've tried turning off link statement management, which didn't help. I found a small work around whereas I leave my computer on 24/7 and set it to never sleep or turn off hard disk. That seemed to help but occasionally when my computer restarts, it resorts to deadlocking again. Either way, the work around doesn't tackle the root cause of the problem because I shouldn't have to leave my computer on 24/7 without hibernation or sleep. Still, so far this was the best temporary solution which at least drastically reduced the freezing/deadlocking. When it freezes up, it becomes completely unresponsive that my only option is to force shut it down instead of just ending task on a particular problem app. I'm not sure what else to do, and I don't want to go through a full re-install of windows. It doesn't freeze when I'm using it even if I have a bunch of apps on and running, but as soon as it's left idle, it will deadlock after one click even no nothing is open on it. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi, i just upgraded to windows 10 and i am having an issue.

No matter what is on my screen, after a few minutes of being left idle my computer deadlocks(i think that is what it is called). I have to turn off the computer by holding the power button on the computer. I would really like some help.
