  3. Is ethminer (a cryptocurrency mining application), from NiceHash Miner 1.6.0.0, a malware?

I download files only from the official repositories. I have uploaded the official download link (https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashMiner/releases/download/1.6.0.0/NiceHashMiner_v1.6.0.0.zip) right now, although no anti-malware detected it as a malware
    - as I expected, since the file is zipped and the file (ethminer.exe) is "hidden" somewhere inside it.

Regardless, both Windows Defender and Avast Free 2016 - which I uninstalled because the false-positive still occurs, so no point in replacing Windows Defender with Avast - are detecting ethminer.exe as a malware, which is wrong, as far as I know... but I
want to be sure, so I ask the technical staff to analyze this case and inform me if I can trust in using this application (NiceHash Miner), which I think so, because of the aforementioned case (that numerous sources accuse the detections as false-positive).

Is ethminer (a cryptocurrency mining application), from NiceHash Miner 1.6.0.0, a malware?

Hi. Numerous sources (websites/categories of websites related to cryptocurrencies) state that ethminer, cgminer, sgminer or any other cryptocurrency mining application are the so called "false positives", as long as they were downloaded from a theoretically
trustworthy source, as is NiceHash Miner, which comes with numerous cryptocurrency mining applications, being ethminer one of them.

According to Virus Total, an online service which uploads samples and verify in a database the most popular antivirus if they detect some malware, Kaspersky, a well established antivirus, won't detect it as malware, which makes me wonder if the aforementioned
file (ethminer.exe) is indeed some malware at all. Thanks in advance!
