  1. Question about win updates on a non frequently used laptop.

So, I have a laptop that is pretty much used for writing and other things when I'm in bed, outside or otherwise cannot be on my desktop. Due to various reasons, I cannot use it as often as I'd like, so it's sometimes weeks to months between uses. Whenever I try using it after it has been off of for a bit, it's slow as hell and takes forever to open a single window. The CPU usage is close to max, the disk usage is though the roof. I pretty much cannot do anything on it. Eventually, it'll restart for a windows update which takes 20+ minutes. After the update finally completes, it usually works okay.

This makes the computer practically useless for what I need it for.

I keep reading that turning updates off is a bad idea. Is there another way I can fix this issue? Or should the updates not be bogging my computer down this much in the first place?

  2. laptop hanging for a minutes after the last updates of win 10

    Hello Raahul,

A quick question before we proceed:

What is the KB number of the last update which causes the issue?

If you don’t want the resent update, I suggest you to uninstall the update and check if it helps. You may follow the steps below:

    • Go to settings and click on update & Security.

    • Click on Update History and uninstall the update from the list.
Hope it helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.
