Windows 10: COD2 still not working with Windows 10

I found my old copy of COD2 and loaded it onto my Windows 10 Dell Inspiron 5584. I got the CODsp2_s.exe error stating that I need to run the program as an administrator. I went through BossDweeb's tips and downloaded the zip file for a patch.

COD2 is one of many disk based games that have been affected by a malware developed by MS.

The only way to circumvent DRM Blocking on Win10 is to use a noCD fix/hack from --here--

I suggest patching the game to v1.3 and using the 1.3 Eng noCD fix

Your game may be pre-patched if it's not the original release.

No luck. I'm still having the same error. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or there is a true incompatibility here.

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
