windows display ID's don't match GPU ports

so, this is a weirdly minor issue that really frustrated me. I'll start at the beginning. I have three monitors connected:

the centre monitor is plugged into display port one. the right monitor is plugged into display port two. the left monitor is plugged into display port three.

bios displays on display port one, the centre monitor. all good so far.

windows, however reports it as follows.

the left monitor is ID three. the centre is ID two. the right is ID one.

now, this gets frustrating as the centre monitor is the main display with the task bar. whenever I turn the left monitor on or off (as I swap it's input to a games console) windows puts my task bar on the right monitor, monitor ID 1, poet two.

however, windows display still says monitor 2 (the centre) is the main display, so I have to toggle the main display setting on and off to get the task bar back on the. protect monitor.

so far I've tried the following:

swapping cables so the centre monitor is plugged into port two, and the right monitor into port one. this puts bios on the wrong screen and cannot be moved. (frustrating as it's a portrait monitor and I can't read the landscape bios)

I've tried unplugging all monitors bar one, then replugging them in. windows still sets the right monitor as ID 1.

I've even tried uninstalling all display drivers, unplugging all monitors except the centre, then reinstalling the drivers with only one monitor. as soon as I plug in the right monitor onto display port 2, it appears as monitor ID 1 again.

I'm kinda at my Witt's end with this, does anyone know of a solution or way to manually force the display ID's of the monitors, or move the screen the bios appears on?

I'll be forever appreciative if you can help me out!
