Windows 10: Help, no sound!

I'm here after running out of ideas. I have no sound and have tried all the logical solutions I know of. My sound card is not even listed in "device manager". I have found in device manager/system devices, there is an error at "High Definition Audio Controller". I am running Windows Version 1909.
In "Services" under Windows Audio, I have found in the properties/dependencies that one of the 3 required services is missing, i.e., "Multimedia Class Scheduler"
I tried to recover this by installing Windows 10 again and keeping my existing files and apps. This didn't work, much to my surprise.
I bought the program "Restoro" and ran a full scan and it didn't fix the problem
I tried downloading and manually installing the update (KB4023057) after it failed via Windows Update. It gives me the error that Windows Services cannot be opened.
I have so many programs that I don't care to do a fresh install of Windows, so this is my last option before going that route.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

• What is the exact issue are you facing with sound?
• Are you getting any error message?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows updates?

Method 1: I suggest you to install all the latest pending Windows updates as below and check if it helps.

• Go to “settings” and click on “update and security”.
• Under tab “Windows update”, click on the icon “check for updates”.
• Then once you find the pending updates install it and check.

Sound problem

Hi,

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
• Click Hardware and Sound.
• Select Playing Audio under Sound.
• Follow the steps that will be provided.

If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.
