Windows 10: Windows 10 Password Incorrect Error

I have a DIY PC with Windows 10 Home Edition. I added a local account to this device after installation and it keeps asking me to change password roughly for one month. It appears this morning again and unfortunately I could not remember the password for last change due to COVID-19. How can I reset my password and remove 'password change prompt' in future?

The Password is Incorrect

I have tried login in to my computer on Windows 10 but it shows password is incorrect. I have followed the steps indicated but it is still showing that the password is incorrect. Please advise.

Hi.

I have the same problem.

On my surface pro the Upgrade went fine, and on my PC it keeps saying incorrect password when I try to log in. I log on my SP without problems With the same Microsoft account.

My pc is online, and there is no other error Message than the incorrect password. I have tried rebooting a lot of times, I have logged out of the SP to try to log in on the pc. I have also changed the password on my Microsoft account, and everythings going
fine on the SP, and the same incorrect password Message repeats itself on my pc

I have separate licences on my devicess of course, and everything was working fine With Windows 8.1 on both Devices.

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

I suggest you to refer to the below link about: Why can't you sign in?
and try to reset the password. Try the new password on the computer and check if it helps.

If not this might be issues on the computer, try the troubleshooting steps suggested by
Wasim Asad on August 18, 2015 and check if it resolves your issue.

When trying to sign into Windows 10
for the first time, I get the error “That password is incorrect.”
