  1. MASSIVE DPC Latency issues with Asus GL553 since 1803

    Asus ROG GL553ve
    16 GB RAM
    Core i7 7700HQ
    SSD + HDD

I've had this computer for years. It worked fine until out of nowhere -maybe one of those magical Windows Updates for your own good- started giving me horrible audio glitches (popping, delays, stutters). I also started noticed HUGE lags in Premiere Pro which didn't happen before. I only had one issue with certain nVidia drivers in which I'd get BSODs (Driver Power Less or Equal, or something like that). Solved after reinstalling newer drivers.

I started transcoding my 4K files (I've never had too before) and even went as far to do a clean Windows install. Perfomance is now single digit FPS in premiere, no matter the video file, no matter if its in the HDD or SSD, effects, no effects, 1/4 to 1/16 playback resolution, etc.

After digging around I found Latency Mon and started seeing huge spikes in DPC Latency which show up right when I start hearing my audio issues. Culprits (vary, but include): HDAudBus.sys, storport.sys, storAHCI.sys, dxgkrnl.sys, wdf01000.sys, ndis.sys, and more. Those are the ones that show up more often.

Googling I found the cause (most point to driver conflicts) and lot of the solutions (none definite, none actually solved the problem for the people asking.

    1. Fresh Windows install
    2. Install drivers from manufacturer
    3. Install drivers for videocard, chipset, audio device, lan card, from manufacturer's site
    4. Clean install nVidia drivers
    5. Disable different devices from device manager -Intel Graphics, GPU, laptop battery controllers, wi-fi and bluetooth modules, HD Audio Device, Realtek audio device-
    6. Underclocking and disabling turbo boost
    7. Changing power options in windows plan, nvidia control panel
    8. Reducing CPU Max power in power plan to avoid turbo boost
    9. Booting without any USB device
    10. Changing USB power plan to avoid energy saving
    11. Changing windows timer
    12. Using third party software (msi afterburner, throttle stop, Intel Rapid Storage, Intel XTU and more)
    13. Booting without second monitor
    14. Upgrading BIOS
    15. Downgrading BIOS
    16. Using most recent drivers from nVidia
    17. Setting specific power options for games and premiere
    18. Installing an older Premiere Pro version
    19. Installing a newer Premiere Pro version

And more that I can't think of right now.

I'm a video editor and it's driving me nuts. I cannot, for the love of anything, get any progress. Not getting better or worse, not getting better performance, nothing. The hundreds of threads on it on Reddit have no replies, or solutions that don't work. Not to mention Mircososft forums that resume in reboot in safe mode or run /scannow.

    Pls hlp.

    High DPC latency

    Hey,

I recently built a new computer about a month ago and since then I've had massive DPC latency issues. I ran an xperf trace, that I'll post here if someone is willing to take a look at it, which seems to indicate the problem is coming from wdf01000.sys, dxgkrnl.sys,
    stormport.sys, and ntoskrnl.exe as well.

If anyone could offer any assistance or insight I would greatly appreciate it, I've been trying to solve this issue for over a month now.

    DPC latency audio problem

If the issue continues in Safe mode, that suggests an there might be an issue with basic drivers.
I was wondering about your chipset drivers version. It appears there was an update on 01/20/2020, could you verify your chipset drivers version?
