Windows 10: Outlook, Start/Search, and Snip/Sketch broken

Not sure what happened, but something went wrong system wide, it seems.

Suddenly, I cannot open Outlook, even if I try through the command line.

I also can't type in anything in the start/search bar without the search freezing. Or, sometimes, typing does nothing in the search window.

Snip/sketch also hangs on use -- I can select things in rectanglular form, but as soon as release the click, the outline of the selection rectangle remains. When I click away, nothing copied.

This is a work computer that I only use for email and research databases, so I doubt there is any malware going on here. Very safe browsing habits with this machine.

Updated computer last week, but not sure if this could be part of it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Snip & sketch

Hello FrankEngstrom,

Thank you for updating me that information. If you mean the snip and sketch? Based on your description the snipping tool is crashing?

Please try to reset Snip and Sketch

Press Start then search Apps and Features

Select Snip and Sketch on the list

Click Terminate then Reset

If it doesn't work, Please try to create a new administrator account then check if everything is working.

Snip & Sketch

It's the Snipping Tool that's being phased out, not Snip & Sketch. FWIW, I just used the latter tool and was able to paste the snip into a Word (Office 365) document. There was a point in the past when for reasons unknown, opening Word would clear the
clipboard. If you're using an older version, you might want to try opening the document first, before taking a screenshot.

If you prefer to use Snipping Tool, all you have to do (as I suggested earlier) is open the Start Menu and type snip.

 

Snip & Sketch BROKEN in Latest Version V10.1907.24710

Snip & Sketch is BROKEN; Is Anybody Listening? Several Users (including myself) have added Reviews Telling Microsoft that S&S was Broken in Version V10.1907.24710 sometime in Late June / Early July 2020. None of these Complaint / Problem Reviews have been

I have reported details of this problem (Snip Windows hangs after Snip taken with no Response or ability to move forward to the Snip Edit screen.

I have had to go back to Old Snipping Tool. Is Anyone at Microsoft Watching or Reading these Reviews?
