    Help tracking down driver BSODs

Hi Everyone, my computer has been crashing recently a couple minutes after login, unless I am in safe mode.

    PC Specs:
    Ryzen 3600
    MSI x570 Tomahawk
    GSkill Trident Z Neo 3600 16CL 2x8
    MSI 3x Ventus OC 3080

    Here are the dump logs:
    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgBsOh_Kj0nlkgQItBGLyqK_gkYn?e=1RCxL6

The system seems to be more stable when I deselect any non Microsoft driver using msconfig.

I have however crashed once thus far with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION pointing to amdpps.sys

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really need this computer working for my semester final projects this week. Thank you!

    :)

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:

  3. Random BSODs need help

    Hi,

As the bugcheck error codes suggest, those are driver related and could be due to corrupted or outdated drivers. For us to effectively assist you, kindly provide us the information we need below:

    • When you stated that this is a new build, are you pertaining to the operating system or the device itself?
    • Which version of Windows are you currently using?
    • Have you checked if you have any other pending updates for Windows 10?
    • To remove the possibility of unsuccessful updates, are you using any third-party antivirus programs?
    • If yes, have you tried to disable them and try checking for updates again?

Meanwhile, you can refer to the forum article created by ZigZag3143 (MS -MVP)

    BSOD Help

    Hello,

My kids gaming computer has been suffering from a BSOD recently with the error "Driver_Verifier_Detected_Violation" but no driver is listed

I have enabled driver verifier as detailed in this support
    section
and it crashed instantly on start up.

Here is the link to the Minidump files and the MSInfo any help or suggestions as to what to do next. The computer is a fairly new self build with very
    few extra devices requiring drivers.

I don't know if it means anything, but Windows Update also errors and no updates have been installed for the last few weeks.
