Windows 10: Notifications & actions are both blank and not working

My brand new Surface X now won't display either notifications or actions. If I click the notification icon, bottom right, it sometimes displays a completely blank area, but other times shows nothing. In the Notifications & actions area of Settings, under Quick actions, there's nothing, and if I click Edit your quick actions, the blank notification area displays briefly, then vanishes. Under Get notifications from these apps, it says "No senders have provided notifications yet". It also means that I can't turn tablet mode on or off, which is the really annoying part.


I have tried most fixes that I have found, e.g. SFC, disable notifications - reboot - enable - reboot / Background apps off/reboot/on/reboot, etc, but nothing.


I just applied the latest Windows update, so it's 10 Pro / 1909 / Build 18363.1198. I'm really disappointed with this machine, so any help to get it back close to a normal Windows PC is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

 

Stop action center notifications in Windows 10

To stop action center notifications, I suggest you to follow the steps given below:

• 
  Type settings in search bar and hit
  enter.
  
• 
  Go to system.
  
• 
  Select notifications and actions.
  
• 
  Click on turn system icons on or off.
  
• 
  Turn off action center.

• Are you able connected to internet?
• Are you able to login to your Microsoft account automatically?

I suggest you to check if the Mail notifications are set to on in your system. Follow the steps provided below to set Mail notification on.

• In search box, type Notification.
• Click on Notification & action settings.
• Under show notification for these app.
• Check if the Mail app notification is on.
