I know I can use the volume mixer, but i'm trying to streamline the entire process. i don't want to hop out of whatever i am doing to open the mixer find the app to maximize it's volume, then later go back to the mixer later to equalize all the apps again.

Ideally, i could still use volume down on the keyboard and it acts like a global volume down, but the exempt app remains at full volume. then i can use volume up to bring all apps back to maximum.

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible with windows alone, or I can't find anyone that has done it, so is it possible to replace volume control with some other software that might have this function, and still work with the hotkeys on the keyboard?

  2. Volume Control

    Hi, Tobe.

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Before we proceed, I would like you to provide the information stated below:

    • Are you referring to the system volume control or any other music software that you are using?
    • Are you increasing it using the keyboard arrows or through the dedicated volume button that is present in your system?
If you are referring to the systems volume control then I would suggest that you increase and decrease the volume by using the lest and right arrow keys and check if the same issue exist.

Your reply is very important for us to ensure a proper resolution. Please get back to us with the above information in order to assist you accordingly

Can be added to the taskbar or the Quick Launch toolbar, but not to the notification area.
