Microsoft's liability in the event of its product and software not working

I just bought a full spec Surface Pro X costing over £2k. It doesn't work; it doesn't work as advertised. Its software, i.e. Windows 10 is faulty. If it was a car, a TV or an alarm clock I'd take it back to the shop for repair or replacement under my statutory rights and the Sale Of Goods act. For my PC, I seem to be faced with fixing it myself, and even though, after spending two days researching the problem, I have found that the solutions proposed don't work, and Microsoft do not provide the necessary tools to perform those fixes.

Is the world, and me, missing the obvious here? Microsoft are surely in breach of the UK Sale Of Goods act, and they should ultimately be responsible for fixing any computer that doesn't work. There must be legal positions here the Microsoft, and probably others, are ducking.

How do I get Microsoft to honour its legal obligations, and how do I prove that if it doesn't work, it's faulty - end?

-- Interestingly, there's no category for this post .... Faulty Product, maybe?

    :)
