    Images and videos are slow and choppy everywhere


    For a long time I've noticed that if I try to open a simple .jpg image it takes an unbelievable time to load. Like 30-40 seconds of black screen before the image finally appears. I don't look at that many images so I've ignored it.


    Now another media related issue is happening. Choppy and freezing videos. I have three different media players on my computer. VLC, Windows Media Player, and a 'movies and TV' app option that I normally never use. It doesn't matter which program I try, they all have the same problem of freezing up and not playing. Or else they simply stop opening altogether.


    Additionally, windows explorer itself is having a lot of issues. Image previews are not loading when I open folders, folders take 20-30 seconds of being frozen and not responding before they are accessible, etc.

    Choppy video, all sources, 2 different PCs (long post)


    The video problem persists. My ISP sent a new modem, but it made no difference on streaming video, so the problem must be somewhere in the computer. I just can't figure where. This is driving me crazy, because I can't watch any video on either computer because the choppy playback is too distracting.

    I thought for a moment that the problem may be with the SATA driver or controller, as my Device Manager shows only the following, and if I'm not mistaken I'm supposed to see channels listed as well.

    But I just checked a video I recorded on my standalone recorder on a USB 3.0 flash drive, and it's choppy, too.

    Doesn't anyone have any suggestions?

    Choppy Videos

    I'm running Windows 10 on my desktop but every time I try to watch a video on YouTube it turns out very choppy , slow or out of sync. I have the latest drivers for my AMD Radeon. but the problem continues. My computer is virus/malware free and totally
    optimized. How can I fix this problem?

    choppy video streaming windows 10 -- no solution. went thru your new computer, no problem with drivers -- all updated. no problem with video card -- not defective. anytime i live steam it is choppy. Thousands of windows 10 users experiencing same issue.
    Not an upgrade issue (8.1 to 10 -- always 10) -- no reg edit issue. suggestions other than dumping windows 10 and going back to an etch-a-sketch?
