    Hello.

I just did a new install of Windows 10 with a specific goal:

To make the OS of windows as small as possible. I have managed to decrease the footprint from 20 GB to 10 GB while keeping balance in performance and animations. Everything is going as planned perfectly windows looks great .

This is a task given to me by an organization....

I have reduced the footprint of the OS to a high extent.

As the OS was made compact and smaller it became more faster and faster without any doubt .

I ran some scripts to delete bloatware's & also used compact OS command in cmd.

    Everything was going well until...

I found this LCU folder with thousands on folders and files inside under "C:\Windows\servicing\LCU\"

After plenty of research I found out:

LCU stands for Last Cumulative Update. It seems it's just a backup folder in case you may want to uninstall latest CU. It just makes a backup copy using Macrium Reflect before installing any new CU.

Now , as I didn't require the files I deleted the contents of this folder everything seems fine except the fact that the performance has somewhat decreased.

So please let me know the reason behind the loss in performance.

    Thanks.

THIS QUESTION IS A BIT TOUGH TO ANSWER CORRECTLY SINCE THE DEVS OF WIN 10 KNOW BETTER ABOUT THIS THAN ANY OF US

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
