Frequent BSOD happening on my new PC not in safe mode apparently

    Dear all,

I have been experiencing tons of BSOD on random occasions since I installed a new copy of Windows 10.

    My specs as follow:

    CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO VDH WIFI

    GPU: ZOTAC GTX 1660 SUPER

SSD: Samsung Evo Plus 970 500GB

    RAM: T-Force Vulcan Dark Z 16GB C16 3200Mhz x 2

PSU: CoolerMaster MWE 650W V2 Gold

    Things I have done:

    1. Flashed BIOS to the latest version on MSI support page

    2. Updated all MSI Chipsets

    3. Updated to latest NVIDIA 457.30 Driver

    4. Updated all Windows updates

    5. sfc /scannow - no issues

    6. dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth or /scanhealth - no issues

I have done multiple clean install of all drivers in safe mode as well, but to no avail.

From time to time being, I'll experience crashes on google chrome and edge that shows access violation.

Funny enough, all stress tests both CPU and GPU and memory test Memtest86 returned with no issues.

    Current OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 10.0, Build 19042

    Minidump files:

    Memory dump:

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuQ7fhfejz3UpATDsHkd6hlOiyw1?e=fKgbq2

I appreciate any speedy help as my computer is currently unusable.

    :)

  2. Password not accepted in Safe mode

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

Have you tried all the above steps suggested by Sangeeta Sarkar on September 13, 2015.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

    • Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
    • Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
    • What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

    • At the login screen click on the power symbol.

    • Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.

    • After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.

    • Select advanced options under
      Troubleshoot screen.

    • Click on Startup Settings.

    • Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.

    [*]
Please get back with more information, we will be glad to help you further.

  3. New FF - passwords

    Hi:

If that setting is already enabled, then I suggest as the next troubleshooting step might be Mozilla Safe Mode (not to be confused with Windows Safe Mode)):

Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode | Firefox Help

    • Please report back and let us know the outcome, as it will dictate the next steps.
    • Also: please tell us what AV/AM/firewall programs are you running on this system?

    Thanks,
    MM

BSOD and Inability to reboot to safe mode

    • Dell Latitude Laptop running Windows 10 1809 64 bit -
    • Went to shut down laptop last night (12 May around 11:30 UT) and immediately went to a BSOD KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR and tried to restart.
    • Ended up in the Windows Recovery Environment suggesting a restart. Selecting restart just put me back in the Recovery Environment again - endless loop
    • Full power down and restart is the same.
    • In the Recovery Environment, selecting "Uninstall latest quality update" works but makes no difference.
    • "Uninstall latest feature update" fails. Can someone explain the difference between Quality and Feature updates?
    • "Reset my PC" with "Keep my files" fails.
    • Selecting the "Startup Settings' option and prompting a restart to access Safe Mode allows me to select a Safe Mode restart but then it retriggers the BSOD (same one) and dumps me back in the Recovery Environment ... I can't get to Safe Mode.
    • Basically, I am locked out of the machine.
I am suspicious that this may be related to the KB4551853 update (don't know the exact time of release) and that the BSOD has happened when you would normally get the "Update and Shutdown" banner. A complete rebuild
with the loss of all my files is not the absolute end of the world but would make me REALLY unhappy. Any help to avoid that would be appreciated.
