  1. Windows are stacking on top of eachother when opened and are all transparent

My coworker is having an issue with his work laptop and I cant figure it out. It doesnt help that I cant see his laptop or get into it to see what's going on, I'm relying entirely on what he is saying the issue is.

As far as I can tell, the issue is that when he opens something (eg opening an email in Outlook), it opens as a new window and overlays on top of the current one. He can "see through" the opened window, through to the other window, all the way through to the desktop. I showed him the cascade option, thinking it might just be that, and he says it looks like that, but the windows themselves are see through. As if their opacity is set to 20%.

I've been googling relentlessly and cant find anything. He is not tech savvy at all (think turns the wifi off at night for radiation reasons) and I doubt he has installed third party software by accident. I think its most likely that he has turned on some function without realising, or he needs to update his drivers. Any ideas?

  2. stack open windows

    Hi Brad,

We appreciate you for being a part of Windows 10.

Which window you opened, when you say "on a open window, the top right corner, there is the "- . square box, and X" the square box does not work so I cannot not resize the window"?

Follow the below steps and check if you are able to stack the multiple windows.

    1) Open the multiple apps/files/folders in your computer.

    2) Right click on the empty area on the Taskbar and click on
    Show Windows stacked
    .

    3) Now the multiple files/folders/apps will be stacked

I hope the above information helps. Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
