Laptop stuck in automatic recovery loop with bitlocker encrypted drives

    Hi there,

I have an Acer laptop running Windows 10 Pro that is stuck in a boot loop. It goes like this:

    • Start laptop and see Acer logo
    • Screen goes black and Acer logo again with "Preparing Automatic Repair
    • Goes through "Diagnosing system"or something to that effect and "Attempting repairs"
    • Then blue screen with "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC" with the shutdown or advanced options available
    • And so on

I have tried booting into safe mode, I get as far as to select 4 for safe mode and then the above process starts again.

I have tried running chkdsk /r and sfc /scannow but they do not run as the drives are encrypted.

I thought I was successful in unlocking the drives with 'manage-bde -unlock' and using the recovery key, after which it says the drive was unlocked but I am still unable to run the above commands. Furthermore, after unlocking the drive I tried to see if I could access the files by navi gating to the directories and I even tried running notepad from cmd but when I view 'This PC' I only see the data drive there are two drives, one for OS and one for data, the recovery partition, and the boot partition.

After much frustration, I thought I will just reset the laptop as no data should be lost as it is all saved in OneDrive but when I choose to do so through the advanced options, if I choose to keep files or removed everything, I get the "There was a problem resetting your PC".

Removing the boot drive could prove problematic because it is an NVMe drive and I don't think I have the means to wipe it like that. Although I could make a plan if that is my only option.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

  2. Bitlocker Drive Encryption

Recently I was attempting to encrypt my drive with bitlocker because windows was suggesting to encrypt them via the security page when logging into my account. Though, when I do attempt to encrypt them with bitlocker it states that my drive is already
encrypted via bitlocker. I was wondering if there was a different way that it needs to be set up because I was hoping to add the extra layer of security to my drives with bitlocker encryption and password protecting them via a recovery key.

Win 10 in boot loop with Bitlocker full drive encryption lost recovery key

I have a Win 10 computer stuck in a boot loop after upgrading. the problem is the drive is bitlockered with TPM and AD did not save the recovery key. It will not go to the automatic recovery screen. is there any way to recover or force the recovery screen
without booting from another source? If I boot from another source the drive is locked and I dont have the key to unlock it.
