Windows 10: Win 10 Explorer Delay in Producing New Folders

Hi everyone,

First post, apologies if this has been covered before, could not find any existing references.

Recent issue occured on all 3 of my Win 10 Home PC's which I can't resolve.
All Win 10 Home, versions, 2004 19041.630, V.1909 18363.189 and V.20H2
Have registered the full details of my main Desktop PC, Ryzen-5, Win Home V.2004 19041.630.
The issue is, a very long delay in producing a new folder or re-naming an existing folder within Explorer.
Once a new folder is produced or file re-named, subsequent similar operations are normal, ie. no delay until Explorer is exited, re-opening Explorer will repeat the same cycle again.
Saving by naming, for example, a Word or Excel file within Explorer to anywhere produces the same effect.
All operations to desktop are normal, ie., no delays.

Have seen this issue listed on other forums and tried the suggested cures without success:
Clear file explorer history.
De-select the "Show Recently Used Files in Quick Access" option.
De-select the "Show Frequently Used Folders in Quick Access" option.
Disable "Windows Search" service.

Running in Safe Mode with networking enabled does not cure the issue.
Running in Safe Mode with networking disabled does cure the issue.

Not aware of having installed any new SW on any of the 3 PC's. or made any LAN changes.
Bitdefender is running on 2 of the PC's, third PC uses native Win Defender only, have tried disabling.

Have had long standing issue with non-display of network devices in Explorer, accept that this is a known and well documented issue which can be worked around in lieu of MS producing a fix which certainly has been long awaited, however, believe that MS won't even admit there is an issue.

Any suggestions welcome.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
